It is not the only Catalan date. The farewell to “El primer cant del matí” is six concerts, in Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, Tarragona, Valencia and Madrid, and two of the Catalan ones fall either side of this one: the Auditori de Girona show is on 14 November at 20:00, tickets €25, as part of Temporada Alta, and the Auditori Municipal Enric Granados in Lleida follows on 13 February 2027.
The duo are Giulietta Vidal, on vocals and percussion, and Irene Romo, on vocals, cello and percussion. They met at the Taller de Músics ESEM and formed Alosa in 2022. A year later they posted “A la voreta del foc”, a Vidal original, which passed 620,000 plays within three months. A debut EP and a win at the 2024 Sons de la Mediterrània competition came before the first album.
“El primer cant del matí” alternates original compositions, arrangements of traditional song and settings of poems by Lorca and Maragall, and it does so with three elements and no more: two voices, a cello and the percussion. Running through it are jazz, bossa, bolero, classical music and pop. At the XXVIII Premis Enderrock, held at that same Auditori de Girona, they took three awards: best folk album by public vote, best folk album by the critics, and breakthrough artist of the year.
In Girona they play the large-format version. The Temporada Alta listing counts more than twenty musicians on stage, with a choir and a set of traditional Iberian instruments: Martí Escobedo on guitar, Xavi Veres on bass and moog, four percussionists and sixteen choir voices directed by Gemma Rafecas. The Tarragona venue has said nothing about the line-up it will host.
The tour has run to more than sixty concerts across Catalonia, the rest of the Catalan-speaking territories, mainland Spain, France, Italy and the United Kingdom. The album came out on 10 October 2025.
