Angelus Apatrida are on the bill for 70000 Tons Of Metal 2027, the edition sailing from Miami from 14 to 18 January aboard Royal Caribbean’s Freedom Of The Seas, with a stop in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. The organisers confirmed them on Saturday 19 September, alongside Sirenia, bringing the announced total to thirty of the sixty bands set to play. The cruise is capped at three thousand tickets.
Already on the bill were Arch Enemy, Exodus, Evergrey, Hammerfall, Obscura, Moonspell, Primal Fear, Uli Jon Roth, Forbidden, Warbringer and Wolfheart, among others. Rhapsody are playing the final shows of their history, with Fabio Lione and Luca Turilli reunited, and Sirenia bring their twenty-fifth-anniversary show, plus a set with a fan-voted setlist.
The Albacete band arrive with new material. “The Reckoning” comes out on 19 November through Napalm Records, the label they signed to on 20 August after leaving Century Media, and it’s three tracks: “Cycle Of Ruin”, “Burn It Down” and a cover of Sepultura’s “Propaganda”. It was recorded by Juanan López and mixed and mastered by Zeuss.
“It’s time to turn the page,” the band said when announcing the signing. “Napalm Records had been after us for years, and the moment has finally come.”
“Cycle Of Ruin” and “Burn It Down” have already come out as singles this year and are two of the EP’s three tracks. “The Reckoning” is the band’s first release since “Aftermath”, the album from 20 October 2023, and their first with Napalm.
