Art in America, the band from Detroit, Michigan, formed by siblings Chris, Shishonee and Dan Flynn, released “Dreams Of The Disappeared” on 24 September 2026 through Iconoclassic Records. According to the label, it’s their fourth album and their second in two years, following 2025’s “Rise”. It’s out on CD with a twenty-page booklet, digitally and on LP manufactured by elasticStage, with twelve songs, from “Others” to “Postscript”.
Chris Flynn plays guitars, bass and keyboards and sings; Shishonee Flynn plays pedal harp, Japanese koto, African balangi and Indian tambura, and sings backing vocals; and Dan Flynn plays drums, bongos and percussion. Guest Matt Walsh plays bass on “Walking The Dog” and bass pedals on “Three Links”. The cover, based on the Greek masks of comedy and tragedy, was painted by Dan Flynn, who also illustrates the lyrics in the booklet. The band’s first album, “Art in America”, came out in 1983.
