Swiss drummer Florian Arbenz and American saxophonist Greg Osby play Jamboree’s Sala 1 on Friday 9 October at 19:00, tickets 18 €, 14 € for members. It’s sold out.
They’re joined by Nelson Veras on guitar and Rafael Jerjen on double bass. It’s a piano-less line-up, which in a saxophone quartet leaves Veras’s guitar carrying the entire harmony.
Arbenz and Osby have played together since 1998. The project they’re bringing is called Conversation, the title Arbenz has been giving a series of albums, each with a different line-up; the one he recorded with Osby is the ninth, “Targeted”, from 2023, though there it was Arno Krijger’s organ accompanying him rather than guitar. Osby comes from the M-Base collective and some twenty years of albums on Blue Note.
