Forbidden will play their American autumn tour without bassist Matt Camacho or drummer Chris Kontos. Standing in for them are Avery Thurman, bassist of Blind Illusion, and drummer Eli Lucas.
“Both have personal reasons preventing them from making this trip. Please respect their privacy, as we do, and support their decision,” reads the band’s statement, which gives no further detail. The same statement adds that Camacho and Kontos “are expected to return in 2027,” when the long tour for the new album begins, and that both play on it: it’s “an album Chris and Matt are part of and to which they’ve made extraordinary contributions.”
The tour runs from 23 October to 22 November, starting at The Usual Place in Las Vegas and ending in Los Angeles, with Heathen and Void on the bill. Founding guitarist Craig Locicero and singer Norman Skinner will be there, with a setlist the band says will draw on around eighteen songs from across its history.
23 October is also the release date for “Forbidden”, the self-titled album coming out on BLKIIBLK: the San Francisco Bay Area thrash band’s first full-length since “Omega Wave”, from 2010, sixteen years ago.
Camacho and Kontos rejoined the band with the 2023 reunion. Forbidden are also on the bill for January’s 70000 Tons Of Metal, for which half the line-up has yet to be announced.
