Frank Turner will hold the tenth and final edition of his Lost Evenings festival from 4 to 7 November 2027 at the OVO Arena Wembley in London, and those four nights will also be his last shows for the foreseeable future. He announced it in Dallas, in a talk with the audience during this year’s edition, which has just finished. Tickets go on sale on 30 September.
The statement he posted on Instagram gives the figures and the decision: “After 28 years on the road, 10 albums and well over 3,000 shows, it’s time for a change.” He lists four reasons: “I’ve been on the road most of my life, put in a shift, and I want to try new things. I want to recharge, spend more time with my friends and family, and explore other ways of life.”
He adds the state of the trade: “It’s also worth saying that the economics of touring have gotten harder, the music industry has been swallowed by social media in a way that doesn’t really interest me, and as I get older my physical and mental health could do with some care.”
He gives no date for a return: “I genuinely don’t know when I’ll play shows again in the future. Certainly not for a good while.”
