Ice Nine Kills release “A Very Vicious Christmas” on 9 November: eight Christmas classics run through their mincer, digitally and through Fearless Records. They recorded them for the “Terror Tram starring Art the Clown” at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood, and they now leave the attraction for the first time.

Spencer Charnas, the singer, announced it at the Silver Scream Con the band holds every year in Worcester, Massachusetts, and added that the next album will be called “The Silver Scream 3: Every Flick In The Book” and arrives in 2027.

“Art loves Christmas. Who better to distastefully dismember some Christmas classics than Ice Nine Kills?” Charnas says. He quotes two of the lyrics — “oh what fun it is to die in a one hearse open slay” and “he’ll grind your limbs like sausage meat” — and admits that “we weren’t sure we’d find a children’s choir whose parents would approve”.

The relationship with the character has already given them one of their biggest hits: “A Work Of Art”, the official song from “Terrifier 3”, entered Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart at number 3, stayed on it for eighteen weeks and has gathered nearly sixty million streams. The Terror Tram runs on selected nights until Sunday 1 November.
