Be Prog! My Friend has put the first name on its 2027 bill: Karnivool will headline the festival’s ninth chapter, held on 24 and 25 September 2027 at La Carpa del Poble Espanyol in Barcelona. The announcement poster adds two points: it is the Australians’ first show in Spain and the only Spanish festival they will play throughout 2027.
They arrive with “In Verses”, their fourth studio album, ten tracks released this year and the band’s first material in more than a decade. It was recorded with Forrester Savell, the producer who has worked on their records from the start; according to the festival, the process ran for several years and the definitive recording did not begin until early 2025.
The touring behind it has sold out the biggest shows the band has played to date, among them the Roundhouse in London and the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney. Formed in Perth, Karnivool made their name with “Sound Awake” (2009) and “Asymmetry” (2013).
The two-day pass went on sale at 115 euros before the bill carried a single name. Tickets are sold only through madnesslive.es, with a maximum of six per user and card.
