Kurt Rosenwinkel plays “The Remedy” in full at the Conservatori Liceu auditorium on Thursday 5 November at 20:30. The concert is part of the Festival Jazz Barcelona and The Project is running it. The price is not listed by either the promoter or the festival.
“The Remedy” is the guitarist’s seventh album as a leader and was recorded live at the Village Vanguard in New York in January 2006. Every piece on it is his except one, by Mark Turner.
The announced line-up is Rosenwinkel on guitar, Seamus Blake on tenor saxophone, Aaron Goldberg on piano, Joe Martin on double bass and Kendrick Scott on drums. The promoter’s own text, on the same page, instead describes a reunion of the quintet from the record, which had Turner on saxophone and Eric Harland on drums: the credits and the text do not match.
Under-sixteens can only enter accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, with a printed and completed responsibility form.
That same afternoon, at 16:30 and in the same auditorium, Rosenwinkel gives a masterclass as part of the Liceu Jazz series, which is fifteen years old. It costs €10 and is free for the school’s students.
