Lucy Woodward has released “In My Room (Live)”, the live version of a track from “I Need To Roam”, the album she put out on 7 August through GroundUP Music with nine songs.

When they cut it, the song had no words yet. The take was done in the studio, the whole band playing together in front of the cameras of a video shoot, and ninety-five per cent of what you hear comes from that single pass: the lyrics arrived later, on top of a performance that was already finished.

The players are the Rocketeers, the band she has worked with for nine years. The album was recorded across Rotterdam, Los Angeles, rural Virginia and India. Todd Wright co-wrote and co-produced it; Jelle Roozenburg plays guitar.

It’s GroundUP’s second release in seven days: on 9 October the label put out the EP “Come the Night”, by Lau Noah and Michael League.
