Nevermore return to Europe in spring 2027 with “Liminal Spaces”, twenty-one dates starting 29 April in Berlin and ending 28 May in Ankara. The Catalan date is 20 May in Barcelona; they play Madrid the next day and Lisbon on the 22nd. No venue has been announced for either Spanish date.
Rivers of Nihil and Urne join them on every date except the last three — Athens, Istanbul and Ankara — which the band play alone. They played Istanbul on 1 April this year, at the IF Performance Hall Beşiktaş, sold out: it was the band’s first show since 2011.
The band is guitarist Jeff Loomis and drummer Van Williams, with guitarist Jack Cattoi, bassist Semir Özerkan and singer Berzan Önen. Loomis explains how he found him: “He stood out right away, in a lot of ways. The first time I heard him sing I could feel the emotion and the passion. He wasn’t just playing a part. I quickly realised he was a fan of Warrel’s way of singing, just from how he pronounced certain words.” Warrel Dane, who sang for the band until it disbanded, died in 2017.
The band is writing new material as they prepare for rehearsals, and warns some of it could turn up on tour. “We’ve been cooking on it for a while now and it’s started coming together,” says Williams. No title or date has been given for the album: on the catalogue, the last one still listed is “The Obsidian Conspiracy”.
