No Te Va Gustar (popularly abbreviated and stylised as NTVG) are a Uruguayan band formed on 25 June 1994 in Montevideo. The band is made up of Emiliano Brancciari (vocals and guitar), Guzmán Silveira (bass and backing vocals), Diego Bartaburu (drums), Martín Gil (trumpet and backing vocals), Denis Ramos (trombone and backing vocals), Mauricio Ortiz (baritone and tenor sax), Pablo Coniberti (guitar and backing vocals) and Francisco Nasser (keys, backing vocals and guitar).

Ahead of their first festival appearance, the band still didn’t have a name. Emiliano and Mateo came up with one that, as they tell it, was really bad (and, superstitiously, they’ve never revealed what it was). When they went to tell Pau (the drummer), they literally said «We’ve got the name […] you won’t like it», to which he replied «It’s brilliant!» They realised, then, that it was far better than what they’d been thinking, and settled on it for good. They also decided it should be written «No te va Gustar» (without the preposition «a»).
