The Pineapple Thief have released «God Knows», the third preview from «Far and Wide», the record out 9 October via InsideOutMusic. It’s nine tracks, and the video is directed by George Laycock, who’s worked with the band for years.
«The moment of reckoning. Lying there, staring into infinity. Through the shadows,» Bruce Soord says of the track. «I guess it’s autobiographical. We all have things to regret, and I have a fair few. I’ve made mistakes, I’ve hurt people. The metaphorical god knows it. And those ghosts are coming out.»
The 2027 UK and European tour stops at Barcelona’s Sala Apolo on 12 March, the only Catalan date: in Spain they only play here, at Madrid’s Teatro Eslava on the 13th and Bilbao’s Santana 27 on the 17th. It’s promoted by Madness Live!, who opened ticket sales on 11 September. It kicks off in Glasgow on 4 March and wraps up in Tampere on 2 June; before that, this November, they do a run of North American shows.
Playing are Soord on vocals and guitars, Jon Sykes on bass, Steve Kitch on keyboards and Gavin Harrison on drums. Soord founded the band in 1999, and «Far and Wide» will be their sixteenth studio album.
