Christos Antoniou, guitarist and composer in Septicflesh, broke ribs in a fall and is not starting the band’s North American tour. It was announced on 4 October, one day before the opening show.

“Due to a fall, Christos suffered fractured and broken ribs and will need some time to recover,” the statement reads. “We will take the stage as a three-piece, while Christos focuses on his recovery with the aim of rejoining the band later on the tour.”

The tour is “The Wrath Across North America”, co-headlined by Arch Enemy and The Black Dahlia Murder, which opened on 5 October in Riverside, California. It is thirty dates through 16 November, eight of them in Canada, with Septicflesh, Crypta and Thrown Into Exile completing the bill.

The band has not said how many shows he will miss, and has not brought in a replacement guitarist.
