Canada’s The Sheepdogs play La (2) de Apolo on Saturday 5 December. The venue lists 19:30 as the time and leaves the start time to be confirmed. Tickets are 25 € in advance and 28 € on the door, plus fees, run by Mercury Wheels.
They arrive with “Keep Out of the Storm”, released this year. The band, from Saskatoon, works with two guitars in thirds, organ and vocal harmonies, in the vein of seventies American rock.
In 2011 they won an open Rolling Stone magazine contest and ended up on the cover without a record deal. Since then they’ve released albums steadily and tour constantly across Canada, where they play venues considerably bigger than this one.
