Post-rock

“Tidefall”, the debut EP by Solimpulse, comes out on 20 November: five tracks running a little over twenty-two minutes. It can be pre-ordered on the project’s Bandcamp page, and “No Horizon”, which lasts 4.17, can be heard there now with a lyric video.
Solimpulse is the project of the Ukrainian musician and composer Serhii Lykhotvor, who is credited with the music, the performance, the production, the mixing and the mastering. The voice on “Depth” and “No Horizon” is Yulia Lykhotvor’s, of the atmospheric black metal band Sidus Atrum.
The record’s own note describes it as “an album shaped by distance, silence, and the movement of the sea”, with “slow crescendos, atmospheric textures and sparse vocals” moving through solitude, memory and disappearance. It ends on three sentences: “No shore. No return. Only motion.”
The five tracks are “Tide”, “Depth”, “No Horizon”, “After Nothing” and “Hollow Veins”. No label is listed: the EP is sold straight from the project’s Bandcamp page.
