Progressive Rock

Self-released · 19 August 2026
“New Life”, the second studio album by British progressive rock band Solstice, released in 1992 according to the band’s discography, is back in a remaster that came out on 19 August 2026 as a self-release. It’s available on CD, in a six-panel fold-out sleeve, and as a limited-edition 180-gram coloured vinyl, both with new artwork by Shaun Blake, as well as digitally. The remaster is by Andy Glass, who also did the original mix. To the album’s six tracks, from “Morning Light” to “Journey”, the CD and digital editions add live versions of “Morning Light”, “Guardian” and “New Life”.
According to the album credits, the line-up at the time was Heidi Kemp on vocals, Andy Glass on guitars, programming and vocals, Marc Elton on violin, keyboards and vocals, Craig Sunderland on bass and Pete Hemsley on drums; the songs are by Glass and Elton. In the band’s own history, “New Life” and “Circles” were the two studio albums of their nineties revival, when the interest stirred by the CD reissue of “Silent Dance”, their 1984 debut, got Solstice going again. The remaster comes nine months after that of “Silent Dance”, released on 14 November 2025.
