TEMIC have released “Ashes”, the third preview of “Ceiba”, their second album, out 2 October through Season of Mist. On the tracklist given by the label, the song sits second — 4:55 — after “Asunder”, a 1:35 opener. “Ceased To Be” and “Broken” had already come out before it.
“Ceiba is a concept album about loss in all its forms,” says the band. “Ashes begins the album’s journey wrapped in turmoil and hopelessness. But out of that struggle comes the fight for renewal and, ultimately, inner strength.” The title comes from the ceiba, the tree held sacred by Maya culture for linking earth, sky and the underworld. “We like how the image of the ceiba ties into the album’s overall theme, which is loss,” explains keyboardist and sound designer Diego Tejeida.
The video is by Cesar Mendiburu, who directed and edited it using footage from the band’s 2026 performance on the Cruise to the Edge. The cinematography is by Linda Alcocer and Dreyken Hinojosa.
TEMIC are singer Fredrik Klemp, guitarist Eric Gillette, bassist Miguel Pereira, drummer Simen Sandnes and Tejeida himself, all with backgrounds in Haken, Devin Townsend, the Neal Morse Band, Shining and Maraton. They came together in 2023, and their debut, “Terror Management Theory”, reached number 15 on iTunes’ worldwide metal chart. “Ceiba” is eleven tracks, the longest, “As Long As We Last”, running 10:21.
The autumn European tour, with Kingcrow opening, runs from 15 October in Milan to 1 November in London, and includes the band’s first-ever dates in Finland and England. None are in Spain.
