Tony Levin has released “The Book Of BEAT”, a 156-page softbound photo book drawn from the pictures he took during BEAT’s 2024 and 2025 world tours. It collects 188 of them. It is on sale at the merchandise stand at the band’s North American concerts and at tonylevinmusic.com.

BEAT brings together Levin and Adrian Belew, both from the eighties King Crimson line-up, with guitarist Steve Vai and Tool drummer Danny Carey, and plays the music of “Discipline”, “Beat” and “Three Of A Perfect Pair”. The book states where the images come from: North America, South America and Japan.

Levin shot them from places no outside photographer could reach — the stage itself, the wings and the road between shows. The four musicians appear in performance and off stage, and so do the audiences in Brooklyn, Austin, Monterrey, Santiago and Tokyo. “It’s been fun going through all my tour pics to find the best ones,” he says, “to assemble a book that gives the feel of what the tour was really like.”

Terry Bozzio is on drums for this autumn’s North American tour, filling in for Carey. They stop at Milwaukee’s Riverside Theater on Monday and pass through Toronto, Montreal, Boston and Philadelphia in November.

Levin has played with Peter Gabriel since 1977 and has recorded with John Lennon, Paul Simon and Pink Floyd.
