Saxophone, electronics and field recordings: jazz that sounds like landscape

British saxophonist, singer and producer Laura Misch performs at Razzmatazz 3 on Wednesday 14 October, at 20:30, in a show promoted by Serious Fan Music. She arrives with a full band.

She’s presenting “Lithic”, released on 5 June 2026 through One Little Independent and recorded in caves, quarries and coastlines: the recordings made in those spaces work as the rhythmic and harmonic base beneath the saxophone, voice and electronics. It’s her second full-length, following her debut “Sample the Sky” (2023). Misch comes from the London jazz scene of the last decade, the one built by Shabaka Hutchings, Nubya Garcia and Ezra Collective, though the ground she works is closer to ambient and song than to the club.
