Donny McCaslin Quartet

The Donny McCaslin Quartet is a contemporary jazz group led by American saxophonist and composer Donny McCaslin. The band has won international recognition for its innovative fusion of musical styles, its instrumental virtuosity and its contribution to the modern jazz scene.

Donny McCaslin is the band’s undisputed leader. Born on 11 August 1966 in Santa Clara, California, he is a renowned tenor and soprano saxophonist. He has worked with a range of notable musicians and bands, including the legendary David Bowie on his album «Blackstar». McCaslin is known for his contemporary style and his ability to combine elements of jazz with genres such as rock and electronic music.

Jason Lindner is the quartet’s keyboardist and has collaborated extensively with McCaslin over the years. His talent on keyboards and his taste for experimentation have been an integral part of the band’s distinctive sound.

Tim Lefebvre is the quartet’s bassist and is known for his musical versatility. He has worked with a wide range of artists, including Tedeschi Trucks Band, Wayne Krantz and many others. His skill on electric bass brings a solid, expressive foundation to the quartet’s sound.

On this occasion, it seems, the drums will be handled by Antonio Sánchez. He is a Mexican jazz drummer and composer widely recognised for his talent and versatility in music. Born on 1 November 1971 in Mexico City, Antonio Sánchez has stood out for his exceptional skill on drums and his contribution to numerous musical projects, both as leader of his own group and as a collaborator in various line-ups. Throughout his career he has left a deep mark on the contemporary jazz scene and beyond.
