Anagnorisis release “Caregriever” on 23 October, their fourth full-length and their first since “Peripeteia”, from 2016. The Louisville black metal band has previewed “Choke”, the second track made public after “Nothing Left To Give”. It’s exactly ten years between records.
The record is split across four labels by format: CD through Bölverk Collective in the US and Vendetta Records in Europe, vinyl through Negative Reflections and also Vendetta, and a limited cassette edition through So Below Productions.
“We chose “Choke” as the next single because I think it shows another side of what “Caregriever” is,” says singer Zachary Kerr, who handles production and recording with guitarist Zak Denham. Drums and bass were recorded at Top Track Studios, and Denham also handled mastering. Rounding out the line-up are Josh Mumford on bass and Cody McCoy on drums; Niels Riethorst sings on “Death Of Man”.
The record brings the band’s first shows in years: the same 23 October at Chicago’s Liars Club, as a release show, the Sabbatic in Milwaukee the day after, and Seattle’s Northwest Terror Fest, from 6 to 8 May 2027.
