Enslaved and Sólstafir have announced a shared European tour of twenty-one dates that stops at Razzmatazz 2 on Sunday 14 February 2027. Gaahls Wyrd open. Barcelona is the tour’s only Spanish stop, and tickets go on sale on Friday 25 September at nine in the morning BST.
The run starts on 4 February at Berlin’s Festsaal and ends on the 27th at Brno’s Fleda, calling at Copenhagen, Strasbourg, Rennes, Paris, London, Liège, Nijmegen, Utrecht, Cologne, Solothurn, Milan, Vienna and Warsaw. The Catalan date sits between Toulouse, on Saturday the 13th at Le Metronum, and Paris, on Tuesday the 16th at the Élysée Montmartre.
Enslaved arrive with “Mið”, out on Nuclear Blast on 30 October and their first record since “Heimdal” (2023). It runs to eight tracks: “Non-Being”, “I Am Ice”, “Solar Will”, “Mountain”, “Spirit Helper”, “Parting”, “Tales Of Trees” and “I Miðju”. The seventh, “Tales Of Trees”, came out today, after “Solar Will” in August and “Spirit Helper”.
“Trees can grow, shine, and flourish, but they can also wither and burn. They need to be tended to and looked after in one way or another,” says singer and bassist Grutle Kjellson. Guitarist Ivar Bjørnson adds: “There is something about our kinship with trees that is both deeply familiar and wonderfully strange.”
“Mið” is Old Norse for “centre” or “middle”. Two guests sing on it: Johan Sara Jr on “I Am Ice” and Kevin Kicking Woman on “Spirit Helper”. The album comes on CD, on CD digipack with a bonus track, and on gatefold vinyl in several colours.
