This Is The Kit release “Ghost Coat” on Friday 15 January 2027 through Memphis Industries. It is the seventh album from the band Kate Stables leads, there are twelve songs, and the first one out is “Skim a Stone”, with a video directed by Stewart Baxter.
The sessions took place at Rockfield Studios, the Wye Valley farm in south-east Wales that has been making records since the late sixties. The regular band play on it — Rozi Plain on bass and keyboards, Neil Smith on guitar, Jamie Whitby-Coles on drums and keyboards and Jesse D. Vernon on guitar and keyboards — alongside Richard Dawson, Sam Amidon, Ben Howard, Emma Broughton, who records as Blumi, and brothers Valentin and Marceau Portron of Portron Portron Lopez.
“I hope listeners come away with a sense of shared experience. I’m someone who is prone to disappearing into a sort of burrow, and it’s hard to know how to get out of the burrow,” Stables says.
The previous album, “Careful of Your Keepers”, came out in June 2023. Tickets for the 2027 European and North American tour go on sale tomorrow at ten in the morning, and so far no Spanish date has been announced.
