The Chino Swingslide Quartet play the Harlem Jazz Club on Saturday 24 October at 11pm. Tickets are €15, sold through Entradium; the venue does not publish a doors time.
Chino Swingslide is the stage name of Hernán Senra, born in Buenos Aires in 1980 and settled in Barcelona, who sings and alternates electric guitar with the resonator, the metal-topped one that sounds as if it were coming from two streets away. He is joined by Tota Blues on harmonica, Fernando Slap on double bass and Marc Dino on drums.
The quartet won the third Volotea Blues Challenge on 26 July, at the Arenal kiosk in Bilbao, and with it the right to represent Spain at the European Blues Challenge, held from 8 to 10 April 2027 in Vila do Conde, in northern Portugal.
The set is almost all original material. Their most recent release is the EP “Mary Jane”, from February 2026, following the album “Canciones de amor, de locura y de muerte” in September 2025 and “Between Heaven and Hell”, which Senra recorded in 2024 with Tota Blues — the same player now on harmonica in the quartet.
