Robin Trower released “Shine” on Friday, ten songs out through Provogue under catalogue number PRD77912. He plays guitar and bass and produces it himself; Richard Watts sings and Chris Taggart is on drums. The record opens with “The Missing Piece” and closes with “It’s Not Time”; in between sits “Faith”, the track released with a lyric video.
“My new album Shine is out now,” Trower says. “I’m very pleased with how this record has come together. There’s a lot of energy in these songs, and I hope you enjoy listening to them as much as we enjoyed making them.”
Trower played the sixties club circuit with the Paramounts and joined Procol Harum in June 1967, just after “A Whiter Shade of Pale”, before the solo career whose best-known point is “Bridge of Sighs”, from 1974 — fifty-two years before this one.
