Zebra release “Zebra V” on 13 November through Flatiron Recordings. It runs to eleven songs and is the trio’s first studio album since “IV” in 2003, twenty-three years ago.

The first single, “Walk With You”, is out on 13 October and is credited to Randy Jackson and Paul Stanley. Jack Douglas produced five of the eleven songs: he is the man who produced their 1983 debut for Atlantic. “Working again with Jack was great and exciting,” Jackson says. “It’s like we hadn’t stopped.”

The line-up is the one it has always been: Jackson on vocals and guitar, Felix Hanemann on bass and keyboards and Guy Gelso on drums. The band formed in 1975 in New Orleans and the label is presenting the record as its fiftieth-anniversary album.

Two of the songs take their titles from Edgar Allan Poe: “The Conqueror Worm” and “Eulalie”. The rest are “Dog Day Night”, “All Your Love”, “Walk With You”, “Love, Sex”, “I’ll Be There Beside You”, “She’s Waiting For You”, “Direction”, “Louisiana Way” and “The Last Time”.

It comes out on CD, on a cassette run of one hundred, on black-and-white vinyl limited to two thousand and on gold vinyl limited to one hundred and fifty. A documentary is also in the works, provisionally titled “Tell Me What You Want: 50 Years Of Zebra”, with no date announced.
