Karma Chief Records releases “Yours In The Ranks Of Death” on 4 December, the fifth full-length by Ghost Funk Orchestra, the project of composer Seth Applebaum.
There are eleven tracks, and two have been circulating for weeks: “Ocotillo”, released on 16 July, and “Yours”, on 1 September. The title song is split in two, “In The Ranks Of Death Pt 1” and “Pt 2”, which open the record’s first and second halves.
The label describes it as Applebaum’s most pared-down and personal collection, with the sounds and the conceptual framing thinned out so the grooves sit in a cleaner pocket.
It is the first studio album since “A Trip To The Moon”, from February 2024; in between came “Live In Europe”, released in April. Ghost Funk Orchestra have been on the Karma Chief roster since 2018.
Pre-orders are open. The Colemine webstore is selling an exclusive plasma orange vinyl edition, limited to three hundred copies.
