Michael Barber has left Gloryhammer after a decade to concentrate on Wizardthrone, and the band released “Death Cycles” through Napalm Records on 6 October. It is their first new track since “Hypercube Necrodimensions”, from 2021.

“Ever since Hypercube Necrodimensions came out in 2021, I couldn’t stop thinking about writing more music and getting the band performing live,” Barber says. The ideas kept piling up until he made it his priority.

The line-up on the track is completed by Matthew Bell (Forlorn Citadel) on guitar, Keiran Allen (Akercocke) on bass, Christopher Bowes (Alestorm) on keyboards and Isak Olsson (Twilight Force) on drums. Dave Otero mixed it and the artwork is by Dan Goldsworthy.

And for the first time the project leaves the studio. They play The Underworld in London on 21 November; from 14 to 30 January they do fifteen venues across the UK and Ireland supporting Alestorm and Battle Beast, and on 8 July they are at Masters of Rock in Vizovice, Czechia. Nothing in Spain.
