Aerosmith will play again on 29 October and 1 November at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, two nights that Live Nation-Hewitt Silva and Blackbird Presents have billed as “California, Dream On: Aerosmith & Friends”. It is the first time the band has been on a stage since 9 September 2023.
The guest list runs to The Black Crowes, Run-DMC, Heart, Billy Idol, Sammy Hagar, Eric Church, Marcus King, Pat Monahan of Train, Tom Morello, Slash and Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses, Jerry Cantrell and Mike Inez of Alice in Chains, Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme, Sully Erna of Godsmack, Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Steve Stevens, Andrew Watt, Adam Wakeman, Audley Freed and Kenny Aronoff, with Don Was as musical director. The promoters say the bill will change from one night to the other and that neither final line-up will be made public until close to showtime.
General sale opens on 10 October at ten in the morning Pacific time; the Citi cardholder presale starts today and the Aero Force One fan club presale tomorrow.
Tyler, who is 78, tore his larynx at a show in September 2023. The “Peace Out” tour stopped at its third date, on 9 September at Elmont, New York, and on 2 August 2024 the band announced it was done with touring.
In April Joe Perry told Billboard he was not writing off the band as a live proposition. “It’s just been in the last six months that Steven’s started to get comfortable with singing,” he said. “He literally had to take a year off before he was able to start stretching his vocal cords, and you’re always worried about reinjuring it.” He added: “You just never know.”
Tyler and Perry had already played together again on 30 April 2025, at a private show in San Francisco in aid of Janie’s Fund, the charity the singer set up for girls and young women who have been through trauma. The promoters have not said how much Tyler will sing on either night, or how the guests will be divided up.
