Hypno5e have released “Trame Noire”, the track that gives the new album its title. It is the third advance, after “Lost Fires” and “Molecular Angel”, and the distribution credits date it 5 October.
The album is out on 6 November through Pelagic Records and runs to five tracks: “Lost Fires” (8:42), “Falmer”, “Molecular Angel” (4:49), “Bare Bones” and “Trame Noire”. Emmanuel Jessua produced it, Chris Edrich mixed it and Pierrick Noel mastered it.
“Trame noire” is the French term for dark infrastructure: the urban planning that preserves the blackness of the night for nocturnal species. The album follows a character confronting his trauma over the course of a single night, with every insect, every beat of a wing and every change in temperature bringing back a buried memory.
It is the eighth album by the French band, who have been active since 2003 and who call their music “cinematic metal”.
