Meshuggah + The Halo Effect + Mantar

Meshuggah are an influential Swedish extreme and progressive metal band, formed in 1987 in Umeå. Their musical style is known for being a unique fusion of progressive metal, djent and math metal elements. The band have been pioneers in developing the djent subgenre, characterised by complex rhythms, polyrhythms and the distinctive use of rhythmic, dissonant guitar riffs.

Meshuggah’s original line-up included Jens Kidman (vocals), Fredrik Thordendal (lead guitar), Peter Nordin (bass), Tomas Haake (drums) and Johan Sjögren (rhythm guitar), although the line-up has undergone some changes over the years.

One of Meshuggah’s standout albums is «Destroy Erase Improve», released in 1995, which marked a milestone on the progressive metal scene. However, it was with their album «Chaosphere» (1998) and, especially, with «Nothing» (2002) and «obZen» (2008) that the band gained worldwide recognition.

Meshuggah are known for their complex compositions, introspective lyrics and the exceptional technical execution of their members. Their impact on modern metal is undeniable, and their style has influenced numerous bands within the progressive metal and djent scenes. The musicians’ technical skill, combined with their compositional innovation, has led Meshuggah to be considered one of the most influential bands in contemporary metal.
